On this adventurous Ladakh trip, you'll explore some of the most remote and stunning locations in the region. Your journey will start in Leh, where you'll discover the unique cultural heritage and stunning architecture of this ancient city. From here, you'll embark on a thrilling drive through the world's highest motorable road to the Nubra Valley, where you'll be greeted by the mesmerizing sand dunes and the rare double-humped camels.

Next, you'll visit Pangong Lake, one of the highest saltwater lakes in the world, and marvel at its ever-changing hues of blue. You'll also visit Hanle, a hidden gem known for its observatory and stunning night sky. And finally, you'll head to Umling La, one of the highest motorable roads in the world, where you'll witness the awe-inspiring Himalayan peaks and rugged terrain.

Travel suggestions:

  • Group transfers scheduled at 12pm from Srinagar on Day 1
  • Take a flight/train post 2pm on Day 12

  • Extra mattress will be provided for triple sharing occupancy.
  • The trip is designed for individuals aged 16 to 40 years, given the dynamic nature of our itinerary. However, we offer customized journeys for travelers outside this age range.
  • You're headed to the high-altitude cold desert regions of India, where medical facilities are scarce. We strongly recommend consulting your doctor for health advice before your trip. Wandering Souls cannot be held responsible for medical emergencies due to the limited healthcare services in these remote areas. Should you require logistical support for medical reasons, we will assist, but please note that the costs will be your responsibility. Ensure you're in good physical health before embarking on this journey, and inform us of any pre-existing health conditions so we can provide appropriate guidance.

Tour Plan

Day 1 - Arrive at Srinagar | Overnight at Srinagar Houseboat

  • Arrival at Srinagar and check into your stay.
  • Settle into your room, refresh, and take some time to unwind.
  • Explore the local markets of Srinagar for some shopping in the evening.
  • Fun & Games to end the day

Day 2 - Srinagar to Kargil | Overnight at Kargil

  • Depart early for Kargil after breakfast, passing through the scenic Sonamarg.
  • Traverse Drass, the second coldest inhabited place, via Zoji La Pass, towards the gateway of Ladakh.
  • We will visit the Kargil War memorial if time permits.
  • Continue towards Kargil after a lunch stop and check into your hotel upon arrival.
  • Explore kargil on foot.

Day 3 - Kargil - Lamayuru – Leh | Overnight at Leh

  • Begin the day early and journey towards Leh, stopping at Lamayuru via the high passes of Namika La and Fotu La.
  • The drive from Lamayuru to Leh introduces you to the Hangroo Loops and Nimmu, culminating in an evening arrival at Leh.
  • Visit the Gurudwara Pathar Shaib enroute.
  • Check into your hotel for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 4 - Leh to Nubra via Khardungla Top | Overnight at Hunder

  • Enjoy a nutritious breakfast at your accommodation in Hunder to start your day.
  • Embark on a scenic journey to Sumur, located approximately 40 km from Hunder, through picturesque landscapes that offer stunning views of the Karakoram Range.
  • Depart Sumur and continue your journey towards Panamik, which is situated approximately 25 km away from Sumur.
  • Arrive in Panamik and explore the Panamik Hot Springs, natural hot springs that are believed to have therapeutic properties. Relax and rejuvenate by taking a dip in the hot springs to soothe your weary muscles.
  • Afterward, proceed towards Siachen, recognized as the highest battleground and one of the longest mountain glaciers in the world.
  • Meet with the army personnel and gain insight into the everyday life at the base camp.
  • Conclude your day by spending the night in Sumur.

Day 5 - Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso via Shyok Valley | Overnight at Pangong Tso

  • Start your day with breakfast, then proceed to check out and begin your ourney to the illustrious Pangong Tso, elevated at 4350 meters, traveling through Agam and Shyok villages.
  • Noted for its remarkable ability to change color 4 to 5 times daily, Pangong Tso stands as one of Asia's most incredible lakes.
  • Termed the "Lake of the great hollow," it holds the title of the highest saltwater lake globally.
  • On average, Pangong Lake measures about 4 kilometers in width and extends over a length of at least 136 kilometers, with its explored area exceeding 250 square miles (400 sq. km).
  • Upon arrival at Pangong Lake, proceed with the campsite check-in. End your day with dinner and an overnight stay at the site.

Day 6 - Pangong to Hanle via Rezang La War Memorial | Overnight at Hanle

  • Enjoy breakfast and check out for an exciting trip to Hanle village.
  • Visit the Rezang La War Memorial to honor the heroes of the Indo-China War.
  • Stop for lunch at Loma/Tsaga village en route, depending on the time.
  • Arrive at Hanle by evening and check into your homestay.
  • Have dinner and enjoy a restful night in the tranquility of Hanle, preparing for more adventures ahead.

Day 7 - Hanle to Umling La and Back | Overnight at Hanle

  • Start the day with a hearty breakfast and say goodbye to Hanle village, aiming for Umling La, the highest motorable road in the world.
  • Prepare for a rugged and adventurous journey to Umling La, with the stunning Ladakh range enhancing the experience with its breathtaking views.
  • Umling La stands at an elevation of 5,640 meters, nestled on the ridgeline between Koyul Lungpa and the Indus River near Demchok.
  • After marveling at Umling La's beauty and enjoying lunch, begin the return trip to Hanle.
  • Arrive at your homestay in Hanle by evening, ready for dinner and a peaceful night's rest.

Day 8 - Hanle to Tso Moriri via Tsaga La | Overnight at Korzok

  • Post-breakfast, set off on an exciting journey to Tsomoriri Lake.
  • Travel through the enchanting plains between Hanle and Loma.
  • Tsomoriri, the highest and largest saltwater lake in India, is located at an elevation of 4,522 meters. It stretches up to 28 km in length and averages 100 feet in depth within the Changtang Wildlife Sanctuary.
  • Enjoy the serene beauty and changing colors of Tsomoriri Lake.
  • Check into your homestay, have dinner, and enjoy a restful night.

Day 9 - Tso Moriri to Sarchu via Puga Valley | Overnight at Sarchu

  • Begin the day with breakfast and set off early for Sarchu.
  • Travel from Korzok to the geothermal hotspot of Puga Valley, known for its hot springs and mud pools.
  • Visit Tso Kar Lake to observe the white salt deposits along its shores.
  • After exploring the area, proceed on the Manali-Leh highway through Moore Plains towards Sarchu.
  • Arrive in Sarchu by evening, followed by dinner and an overnight stay in Sarchu camps.

Day 10 - Sarchu to Manali via Atal Tunnel | Overnight at Manali

  • Rise early and start the journey after breakfast.
  • Cross the challenging Baralacha-La pass (4892 m) for its stunning views.
  • Visit Suraj Tal, a picturesque lake near Baralacha La's summit.
  • Continue through Zingzing Bar, Patsio, and Darcha on the way to Manali.
  • Check into your Manali hotel, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 11 - Leisure Day in Manali, Self-Exploration | Overnight Journey to Delhi

  • Enjoy a leisurely morning and breakfast before exploring Manali.
  • Visit key attractions like Hidimba Devi Temple, Jogni Waterfall, Vashisht Temple, and Mall Road (On your own)
  • Experience the charm of Old Manali's streets and cafes.
  • Leave for Delhi in the evening.

Day 12 - Back to Home

  • Say your goodbyes, this brings us to the end of an EPIC adventure and beginning of an era of travel stories with Wandering souls. Come back for more and more

Disclaimer

  • Any additional expenses arising out of unforeseen circumstances like cancellation/ roadblocks/landslides/strike or any other natural causes out of human control or any emergency evacuation expenses will be borne by the travellers
  • In case of cancellation of any event due to reasons beyond control (like Natural calamities, riots, political uncertainty, public transport failure etc.), refund shall be payable with respect to the given refund norms.
  • Wandering Souls will not be responsible for any losses incurred for any train/air/bus/taxi bookings, hotel bookings or extension to the camp done by clients/participants

Cancellation Policy

  • If cancellation done by participant prior to 45 days of the Event, 10% of the advance amount will be deducted
  • If cancellation done by participant prior to 30 days of the Event, 50% of the advance amount will be deducted
  • If cancellation done by participant between 15 to 30 days of the Event, 100% of advance amount will be deducted
  • If cancellation done by participant between 7 to 15 days of the Event, 50% of whole trip amount will be deducted
  • If cancellation done by participant within 7 days of the Event, 100% of whole trip amount will be deducted

FAQs

Can I come alone?
Yes, many of our participants are solo travellers.

Is it safe for a female solo traveller?
It is completely safe for a female solo traveller as our representatives will be there with you all the time. Moreover, most of our events have 60% female participation.

What if I have a medical emergency?
We will carry first aid kit with us and we will carry an Oxygen Cylinder with us. If the problem increases, we will quickly get you to closest medical attention possible.

How will you contact me once I register?
We will be mailing you the details once you register. We will also create a WhatsApp group a 2 weeks before the trip

What is the stay like in LadakhTrip?
Accommodation on Double sharing basis in Hotels/ Traditional & Hygienic Homestays/ Swiss Tents at all destinations as per the itinerary. In an unlikely case of odd number of male/female participants 1 or max 2 rooms will be triple sharing(only where the room is big enough)

Would I get cellular connectivity in Ladakh?
You require a postpaid simcard or a local simcard for connectivity in Ladakh and Kashmir. Airtel and jio provide better connectivity than Vodafone. You will get intermittent cellular connectivity in Ladakh. You won’t get cellular connectivity at Pangong Tso

What type of food will I get in Ladakh?
We will be having our Breakfast & dinner at our stays. Lunches we will have locally during our road trip and sightseeing trips. Avg cost per meal would be around ₹200-₹250
