About Fireflies
Fireflies or lightning bugs(Jugnu) make light within their bodies. This process is called bioluminescence. Fireflies light up to attract a mate. This breath-taking show put on by nature resembles a psychedelic combination of stars falling and fireworks exploding – It is an immersive experience you will never forget.

The fireflies do not always flash in unison. They may flash in waves across hillsides, and at other times will flash randomly. Synchrony occurs in short bursts that end with abrupt periods of darkness.

Day 1 - Mystical Night at Rajmachi

Train Schedule: Catch 12:20 CSMT-Khopoli Fast

12:20 pm – CSMT
12:27 pm – Byculla
12:33 pm – Dadar
12:41 pm – Kurla
12:45 pm – Ghatkopar
1:01 pm – Thane
1:17 pm– Dombivali
1:26 pm – Kalyan
1:45 pm – Badlapur
2:19 pm – Karjat
2:44 – Khopoli

03:00 PM: Meet the team at Khopoli Station. Here, we transition from train to Jeep. Journey to the base village, immersed in anticipation (If the roads are bad due to rains then we leave the vehicles at highway and walk 8kms to the base village).
05:15 PM: Reach the base village
05:30 PM: As the sun begins its descent, we go for an exhilarating trek to Shrivardhan Fort.
06:30 PM: Conquer the summit, bask in the glorious sunset, and let the moment sink in.
07:00 PM: Commence the descent with a heart full of sunset hues.
08:00 PM: Back at base village, where dinner awaits under a canopy of stars
09:30 PM: Savor a delightful dinner and then lose yourself in a mesmerizing fireflies walk.

Day 2 - Farewell to Rajmachi

06:30 AM: Awaken to the chirping of birds and fresh mountain air. Freshen up and seize the day!
07:00 AM: Stroll to the nearby lake and temple, immersing in the tranquil morning vibes of Rajmachi.
08:00 AM: Relish a hearty breakfast back at the village, sharing tales of last night's luminescent encounters.
08:30 AM: Wave goodbye to the wilderness as we embark on our return journey to Khopoli.
10:00 AM: Arrival in Khopoli and catch the train back to Mumbai.

Instructions for Fireflies Season

Keep you distance from the trees or bushes where the fireflies are present and observe the phenomenon from a distance
Do not touch the fireflies
Do not flash torch lights at the fireflies
Please keep silent while observing the fireflies

Disclaimer

Basic Washroom facility (Indian Toilets) available at the campsite, it is a camping activity and not a leisure trip so one needs to prepare themselves accordingly.
Smoking and drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited
Please avoid wearing Gold and other jewellery.
A planned activity or programs may be cancelled or revised depending on the weather or any other unavoidable circumstances
We require atleast 8 participants to conduct the event. In a unlikely case where we don’t get the requisite number of participants, you have an option for FULL Refund or shifting to any other event.
Bioluminescence by Fireflies is a natural phenomenon. The trip dates have been planned as per the mating season of fireflies i.e pre-monsoon during which we witness this phenomenon. We may or may not get to witness it. Wandering Souls won’t be held responsible for low or no sightings.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation charge of 15% would be deducted from the booking if cancelled 2 days before the event
No refund would be granted if cancelled within 2 days of the event.
No refund (Partial or otherwise) will be made if you voluntarily leave or drop out of a trip for any reason after the trip has begun. No refunds will be made for any accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, meals or services not utilized
