Overview
Join us for a 2 Nights / 3 Days Leonids Meteor Shower Astro-Trip to Jaisalmer, a unique desert adventure perfect for travelers, students, astronomy lovers, photographers, and thrill-seekers.
Explore the golden city of Jaisalmer, walk through its historic fort, and ride into the Thar Desert on camelback. Spend your nights in cozy desert camps surrounded by peaceful sand dunes.
When the sun sets, get ready for the highlight of the trip—the Leonids Meteor Shower. Under Jaisalmer’s clear, dark skies, you’ll see countless shooting stars lighting up the night. Our expert astronomers will guide you with constellation stories, telescope viewing, astrophotography sessions, and late-night meteor watching.
Along with the skies, enjoy the rich culture of Rajasthan with folk performances, delicious desert food, and warm hospitality. This trip is the perfect mix of heritage, adventure, and stargazing—an unforgettable cosmic journey.
Leonids Meteor Shower
The Leonids is one of the most well-known meteor showers, reaching its peak every year around 15–16 November. It happens when Earth moves through the trail of debris left by Comet Tempel–Tuttle.
The shower is named after the constellation Leo the Lion, since the meteors seem to come from that part of the sky. Leonids are famous for their bright, fast-moving meteors that often leave glowing trails behind them.
On a clear, dark night away from city lights, you can usually see 15–20 meteors per hour during the peak. In the past, the Leonids have even produced incredible “meteor storms”, when thousands of meteors lit up the sky in just one hour—though such events are rare and not expected every year.
