Day 1: Touchdown in Almaty

  • Late evening arrival at Almaty International Airport
  • Transfer to the Hotel
  • Drive to your hotel through the illuminated streets of Almaty
  • Check-in at the hotel

  • Overnight stay in Almaty

Day 2: Explore Almaty City & Kok-Tobe Hill

  • Start with a visit to Panfilov Park, a historic memorial dedicated to Kazakh heroes
  • Admire the colorful Ascension Cathedral, built entirely of wood without nails
  • Walk through the bustling Green Bazaar for a taste of local culture and flavors
  • Stop by the Rakhat Chocolate Factory Shop for sweet souvenirs
  • In the evening, head to Kok-Tobe Hill for panoramic views of the city and fun attractions
  • Overnight in Almaty

Day 3 – Snowy Peaks & City Streets: Shymbulak to Arbat

  • After breakfast, proceed towards the scenic Shymbulak Ski Resort
  • Enjoy a cable car ride offering breathtaking views of the Tien Shan mountains
  • Free time at the resort to explore or indulge in optional snow activities
  • Return to Almaty by afternoon

Day 4 – Into the Wild: The Mystical Lakes of Kaindy & Kolsai

  • Early breakfast and check-out from the hotel in Almaty
  • Scenic drive towards Saty Village, passing through beautiful mountain landscapes
  • Arrival at Saty Village and short rest break
  • Proceed to the breathtaking Kaindy Lake, famous for its submerged forest and turquoise waters
  • Continue to the picturesque Kolsai Lake, often called the “Pearl of the Tien Shan”

  • Evening bonfire experience under the starry sky (weather permitting)

Day 5 – Canyons & City Lights: From Charyn Back to Almaty

  • Breakfast and check-out from Saty Village / Kolsai Lake area
  • Drive towards the spectacular Charyn Canyon
  • Explore the dramatic landscapes and viewpoints of Charyn Canyon, often called the “Grand Canyon of Central Asia”
  • Visit the nearby Black Canyon for striking rock formations and panoramic views
  • Begin the scenic return journey to Almaty
  • Arrival in Almaty and transfer to the hotel
  • Evening at leisure to relax or explore the city on your own
  • Overnight stay in Almaty

Day 6 – Issyk Lake Escape; Departure

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • 10:00 AM departure from hotel
  • Drive to the stunning Issyk Lake (approx. 70 km from Almaty)
  • Enjoy free time to walk around the lake and admire the serene mountain scenery
  • If Issyk Lake is closed: proceed to Alma Arasan Hot Pools & Waterfall (approx. 25 km from Almaty)
  • Time to relax in the natural hot pools and visit the nearby waterfall
  • Return to Almaty by evening
  • Transfer to the airport after dinner for departure

Note: Entry to Issyk Lake is subject to weather and local authority permissions. If closed, the itinerary will proceed to Alma Arasan Hot Pools & Waterfall. No refunds will be applicable for such substitutions.

What is the age group for this trip?

Is it safe for a female solo traveller?

  • Yes, it is completely safe. Our representatives will be with you throughout the trip, and over 60% of our participants are female.

How will you contact me once I register?

  • After registration, we’ll send the trip details via email. A WhatsApp group will also be created two weeks before the trip for easy coordination and updates.

What is included in the trip package?

  • Your package includes group airport transfers, accommodation for 5 nights on a double-sharing basis with breakfast, and guided activities as per the itinerary. (Please refer to the trip details for a full list of inclusions and exclusions).

  • Yes, we strongly recommend travel insurance to cover any unexpected events like trip cancellations, medical emergencies, or lost luggage.

  • Almaty experiences pleasant spring weather during April–May, with daytime temperatures ranging from 15°C to 22°C. Evenings can be cool, and occasional light rain is expected, so carrying a light jacket is recommended.

  • Standard hotel check-in time is typically in the afternoon, and check-out is in the morning. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to hotel availability and may incur additional charges.
  • Any additional expenses arising from unforeseen circumstances, such as cancellations, roadblocks, landslides, strikes, or other natural causes beyond human control, as well as any emergency evacuation costs, will be borne by the travelers.
  • In the event of a cancellation due to circumstances beyond control (e.g., natural calamities, riots, political uncertainty, public transport failures), refunds will be issued according to the applicable refund policy.
  • Wandering Souls will not be responsible for any losses incurred for bookings or arrangements (train, air, bus, taxi, hotel, or camp extensions) made independently by clients/participants.

Cancellation Policy

  • If cancellation done by participant prior to 45 days of the Event, 10% of the advance amount will be deducted
  • If cancellation done by participant prior to 30 days of the Event, 50% of the advance amount will be deducted
  • If cancellation done by participant between 15 to 30 days of the Event, 100% of advance amount will be deducted
  • If cancellation done by participant between 7 to 15 days of the Event, 50% of whole trip amount will be deducted
  • If cancellation done by participant within 7 days of the Event, 100% of whole trip amount will be deducted
