One of the most unparalleled travel experiences one can get is undeniably by visiting Leh Ladakh. It is easy to get overwhelmed here, being surrounded by snow-clad mountains at such great heights, numerous trekking trails, deep gorges and turquoise lakes. Renowned as the land of monks and monasteries, it has a spiritual value as it houses some of the most royal and ancient monasteries. Ladakh is dotted with colourful monasteries and is also a popular destination for adventure buffs. Within Ladakh flows the River Indus and Zanskar, which draws river rafters from far and wide. Explore the mesmerizing beauty of Ladakh region which is also referred to as the Land of Lama owning to its Tibetan connection. Bound by mountains and sharing border with Tibet, the religion, culture and lifestyle of Leh Ladakh is profoundly influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. Ladakh is mostly inhabited by people of Tibetan descent. We will visit monasteries, high altitude lakes and high mountain passes, royal palaces with Tibetan Buddhism influence and of course interacting with the local people.

Day 1Arrive at Leh |Acclimatize| Overnight at Leh

Arrival at Leh and proceed towards the hotel. Rest of the day is for acclimatization as your body needs to adjust to high altitude, make sure you drink of water. We will go for a walk in the evening in the Leh market and explore some cafes and shops. If you missed anything required for the journey then you can purchase them at the market. We will end the day with getting to now each other, sharing stories and playing games.

Day 2Leh Local Sightseeing | Overnight at Leh

After breakfast we will go for local sightseeing of Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill – it has been noticed that when a vehicle is parked on a neutral gear the vehicle slides up-hill due to the magnetic force, Sangam View where Indus & Zanskar River meet. We will also go for River Rafting in Zanskar if everyone is up for it. We will visit the Shanti Stupa and the Leh Palace as well.

Day 3Leh to Nubra via Khardungla Top | Overnight at Hunder

After breakfast at hotel we will drive towards Nubra valley. Popularly known as Dorma or “the valley of flowers” via Khardungla Pass – one of the highest motorable road (5602 mts). Later in the afternoon, we will visit the Diskit Monastery and the giant statue of Maitreya Buddha which is the tallest Buddha statue in Ladakh. Later visit the white sand dunes at Hunder where you can enjoy the Double Humped Bactrian camel ride.

Day 4Excursion to Turtuk| Overnight at Nubra

Wake up to wonderful Sunrise, today we head towards Turtuk, located on the banks of shyok river is the the penultimate village open to foreign tourist before POK.

The landscape, culture, language, clothing, and even the physical features of people change quite drastically crossing over into Turtuk, technically entering Baltistan.

We return to Hunder in the evening to Spend the night here.

Day 5Nubra – Pangong Tso| Overnight at Pangong Tso

Early Morning after breakfast we leave for Pangong Lake through Via Wari La /Shayok Route. Pangong Lake, is situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m). A long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometres at its widest point and over 130km long, it is bisected by the international border between India and China. Enjoy the landscape in the back drop of the Lake. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable).

Day 6Pangong – Leh | Overnight at Leh

After an early breakfast we will leave for Leh en-route we can take a short halt at Changla pass to enjoy a cup of hot steaming tea. En route, we stop by at Hemis & Thiksey Monastery, Shey palace, rancho school & Sindhu ghat, we then proceed further to Leh. We will spend the evening roaming the leh market do some shopping and eat some momos. Dinner & Overnight at Hotel in Leh.

Day 7Leh - Lamayuru – Kargil |Overnight at Kargil

After breakfast, drive for Kargil en route Mulbekh and Lamayuru – the oldest religious centre of Ladakh, the monastery is spectacularly located on an eroded mass of rock below towering mountains. We will be passing through Namikala & Fatula Passes, the highest pass on Srinagar – Leh road.  And on the way to Kargil will cover up the famous Alchi, Likir, and Basgo Palace.

Day 8Kargil to Srinagar via Sonamarg |Overnight at Srinagar Houseboat

After breakfast, We will visit the Kargil War Memorial if not done the previous day. We will then, drive towards Srinagar via Sonamarg. Situated at an altitude of 9000 ft, Sonamarg is also called as “The meadow of gold”. We will continue towards Srinagar and pass over Zojila Pass. Stop at Drass, the 2nd coldest inhabitant place in the World. Overnight stay in Srinagar in a Houseboat

Day 9Srinagar Sightseeing |Overnight at Srinagar Houseboat

After breakfast we will go for local sightseeing of Srinagar covering Nishat Garden known as ‘Garden of pleasure’. Then visit Shalimar Garden known as ‘Garden of love’ and later on pay a visit the famous Shankaracharya Temple which offers a birds eye view of Srinagar city. In the evening we will go for Shikara Ride. Overnight at Srinagar

Day 10Srinagar to Home

After breakfast we will check out from the house boat and head towards Airport. Make sure you book your flights from Srinagar which leave after 12pm. Say your goodbyes, this brings us to the end of our EPIC escapades to the mountains and beginning of your adventures with Wandering Souls.

Flight costs are to be considered fully non-refundable i.e the difference between the Regular & Super Saver cost

If participant seeks cancellation due to natural calamities or any due to military or governmental decisions no refund shall be paid.
If in case Wandering Souls cancels the tour due to unfavourable conditions of travel then whatever best possible refund we get from vendors if we ever get can be processed, in case we do not get any refunds from Hotel/Transportation we won’t be in a position to process any refunds.
In case of cancellation of any event due to reasons beyond control (like Natural calamities, riots, political uncertainty, public transport failure etc.), refund shall be payable with respect to the given refund norms.
Wandering Souls will not be responsible for any losses incurred for any train/air/bus/taxi bookings, hotel bookings or extension to the camp done by clients/participants
